Cookies With Santa

Hey guys,

Our 2nd annual Cookies with Santa event is coming up on the 13th of December, but we need your help. Below is the e-card that we would like for you to forward to all your friends and family. We really want to let people know who we are and what we are about, this event is a perfect opportunity to do so. So will you forward this e-card on to as many people as you can so we can grow our church? Thank you in advance for your support. If you want to get involved, please contact Nathan to do so. We'll see ya there!!!

Special Message December 7

Hey everyone,

As you all know we've been in Matthew for nearly four months now. This Sunday will mark the 15th message we've done in Matthew. I have been thrilled to get this in depth in this important Gospel.

However, I am even more excited now. On Dec. 7 we are starting the Sermon on the Mount with a series on the Beatitudes of Matthew 5. I'm telling you this because I have something very special planned for the 7th which I think will illustrate what this Kingdom of Heaven thinking is all about.

Please mark on your calenders to be with us on Dec. 7 if possible. I think we'll find that it isn't disappointing!

Thanks!

Jason

Kathy Copeland has asked for our help. Here is what is needed:

We need ladies to decorate tables at the Dec 6th function. We have 8 tables and only 5 people who have volunteered to decorate. Please contact Kathy at KCope924@aol.com if you can do a table.

Thanks!

This came through from Debbie via various routes to Jason, who asked me to post it here.....

I am emailing all of you to ask you to pray for my husband, Alan. We went to the er on Friday morning and he was admitted to the ICU with congestive heart failure. His blood pressure was extremely high (at one time it was 198 over 183). He could not breathe. They have since moved him into a room today but his cardiologist says his heart is still real weak. Please pray for a speedy recovery for him. In case you would like to send a card or something, he is in Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming GA in room 3025. Thanks for your prayers and love to you all.

Mike Amos and Linsdsey Holmes' Father Update

Hello everyone,

Just got this update from Mike Amos: "Just want to pass along my thanks to everyone who has prayed for and supported us. It's great to be a part of the family of God. :)

I am back home and, all things considered, I am doing very well. Although I did have to undergo a second surgery to fix the complication, it turned out to be relatively minor. I continue to covet your prayers as I recover over the next few weeks.

Mike"

Thanks to everyone who prayed and supported the Amos's throughout this ordeal. Let's keep praying for his recovery.

Also, I got a call from Nathan today. Apparently Lindsey's father is very ill and fading quickly. If I remember correctly, it looks like problems with his liver. She is trying to take care of his estate and other issues right now. It is a very difficult time for Lindsey, let's be praying for the Holmes' family AND extended family through this.

Tuesday Night Bible Study

Hey everyone,

Just a note about Tuesday nights. We had been planning to move to Wednesday nights for two reasons, 212 Student Ministry was changing its format and that would leave Wednesdays open to us 3 out of 4 weeks of the month. AND, I have two ACC classes starting next week, one of them meeting on Tuesday nights.

However, I had not taken into account that we have some who have changed their work schedules around in order to come on Tuesday nights (such devotion!). Therefore, rather than switch to Wednesdays, we're going to cancel Tuesday night Bible study for 5 weeks (starting next Tuesday), while I complete this course.

That would mean no Bible study on the 17th, 24th, 1st, 8th, and 15th. We'll analyze the Christmas schedule at that time and figure out when to start back up.

BTW, we had a great discussion this Tuesday about the Tabernacle as a model of heaven in Hebrews chapter 8. Very interesting, thanks to all who were there!

Recipe Corner

Someone (OK it was Trish Earhart) made a comment today that since we have so many good cooks and we DO so LOVE TO EAT, we should add a Recipe Corner to our blog. I thought that was a good idea, but so as not to clutter up the church blog, I made a whole NEW BLOG just for all our GREAT RECIPES. Here is a link to it, http://castlerecipes.blogspot.com and I will add a permanent link in the corner of the Castle Christian Blog as well. I started it out with the recipe for the awesome Cranberry White Chocolate Pecan pie I made this morning. I tried to set it up so that anyone can post to the blog directly, but I'm not sure if I acheived that result. If you find you can not post directly in the new Recipe Blog, just email them to me and I will add them.... pafuller2@gmail.com.

Mike Amos Update

Hey everyone,

I stopped by to visit with Mike today and he seems to be doing well. He's up and around and healing from the surgery, though there is still one possible "hurdle to jump through" as he called it.

We had a great talk. The Amos's are grateful for your prayers and all of the food and love you've shown. Let's continue our work to be a blessing as we pray and serve Mike and his family.

Mike Amos Surgery Successful

I got a call from Diane Amos today around 5:00 that Mike's surgery went well and that he is in recovery right now. The doctors reported that they were able to remove all of the cancer completely, and that it was a small amount of cancer.

Diane told me they are feeling very relieved to have had this done. Mike's looking forward to coming home tomorrow. If you'd like to help with meals for the Amos's, please email Stacie at starodenbeck@gmail.com.

Thanks!

Santa Event

Hey gang,

Our ABC group was planning a major event to promote our move--which has been put off indefinitely. Now, we are starting to work with Lindsey and Nathan to promote the Santa event on the 13th of December.

So...we'd like to re-instate our personal invitation list. We'd like you to provide a list of contacts--preferably families with kids--that we can invite. Then we'd get a mailing out to them. Your responsibility would also be to invite them to that event personally.

Please jump on this right away. We need you to email those lists to Janet Otts at jotts52961@yahoo.com this week if possible!

Thanks!
