Good-bye Everyone

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to say good-bye to Cumming and all of my brothers and sisters in Christ that live here. With Ben's death, I simply can't afford to pay the mortgage where we are now plus my entire family is relocating to Columbus, Ga. so I am close behind.

I'm trying not to be too sentimental about leaving and selling the home in which Ben and I raised our girls, but rather, with God's help, trying to focus on the new chapter of my life's journey in Columbus. Thanks to today's technology, you are all within reach and I do want you all to remain a big part of my life.

I ask that you pray for all of us, that you won't forget us and that you will stay in touch. Mike Foster has recently sent out feelers regarding the resurrection of Castle Christian and I think that is a perfectly wonderful idea. I know that many of the members of Castle have yet to settle into a new church home. What we shared at Castle was the Body of Christ living in perfect harmony and that is hard and rare to find in today's chaotic environment. Remember, it's not the quantity of worshipers that come together, but rather, the quality of the gathering that matters.

I think I speak for my entire family when I say, "We love you all. We will miss you all and may God bless each and every one of you."

Update on Lee Lamb

Per Pat Little:

"Lee is done with his procedure and is awake, a little groggy still. He had one stent put in, but bypass surgery is not needed at this time. praise God! Thanks for praying for us, I'll let you know anything else important I find out. He'll probably be in the hospital at least until tomorrow, not really sure yet."

Praise God indeed! Let's keep Pat and Lee in our prayers and hope that he will be able to come home tomorrow.

Prayer Request for Lee Lamb

Pat Little is asking for prayers for Lee. She had to take him to the E.R last night. He was complaining that his chest didn't feel right. Once there the initial diagnosis was arterial fibrillation. He did stay overnight and they will be doing a heart cath in the morning at 8am. With covid being rampant Pat is not able to see him, but she will be able to be in the waiting room during his procedure in the morning. Please lift Lee before our Heavenly Father and ask that the procedure goes well with a manageable outcome. Please don't forget to pray for Pat, for her peace, patience and comfort as they face these troubled waters.

Love to you all.

Ben Abernathy

Please, please, please pray for Ben. He's 76 years old and has COPD. He also has Covid. He also believes in Jesus Christ and the power of prayer. They are preparing to put him on a ventilator. I'm also asking for prayers for the family. We're taking this pretty hard....no...VERY hard. Please lift us as we have lifted you and ask for healing for His beautiful servant, Ben

Prayer request

Haven't heard from the blog in a while, have you? Well, we've got some prayer needs that have come to our attention and Castle Christian is known for prayer strength. So here goes:

  1. Praise God that these folks were eating at the Waffle House when a tree fell on their house, pulling down the power lines with it and starting a fire. This was the home of Debbie Whigham's sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Jimmy Patterson. They lost their kitchen, dining room and living room before the fire was contained. They are in a hotel for the next month so please pray that the insurance company will extend that stay as the repairs will be taking the next six months. They are also taking care of Jimmy's mother so they have to stay in close proximity to her. Tough situation all the way around.
