Prayer request

Debbie Whigham has asked for prayer for her granddaughter's mother, Pamela Wolpert. Her granddaughter, Kenzie Hicks, is Debbie's son, Joe's daughter. Pamela has just been released from the hospital with an episode of kidney failure. In addition Pamela suffers from Guillain-Barre (a rare condition in which the immune system attacks a person's nerve endings). She is seriously ill and needs prayers.

Kenzie also needs prayer coverage as she doesn't know how sick her mother is. Please lift this prayer need for Kenzie and her mother.

Family loss for Debbie Whigham

Debbie just informed us that her aunt, Pat (Katherine) Moon, has passed away. She asks that we particularly lift her mother, Belle Schaffe, and Aunt Pat's children and their families in prayer.

Please remember the people whose lives will feel the loss of this precious part of their families. Losing a loved one is never easy.

Update on Sallie (Earhart) Massie

As many of you know, Sallie (Earhart) Massie was in a very serious automobile accident. She has several broken ribs, the doctors removed her spleen and she has a broken hip. They have, however, removed the breathing tubes and she is sitting up. Mike tells us she is excited about having dinner with her girls this evening.

Please keep Sallie and her family in your prayers. She has a long road to recovery ahead of her.

Sad news

We are sorry to inform you that Kevin Slatton has passed away. His visitation is set from 3:00 - 4:00 on Sunday, May 5th with his funeral to follow at 4:00 pm. The church has sent a living plant to the family. Here's the link to his obituary for more information:

Kevin was part of Castle Christian early in our church's life. He returned to preach for us when we needed him. Please know Kevin is no longer suffering in hospice and is now with his Savior. As Christians we find peace and hope in that knowledge.

Important Reminder

We will be meeting at McDonald's funeral home this Sunday. Same time.....different place. We'll return to the VFW next Sunday.

Thanks, all.

3. Barbara Chapman is now spending time in room 100 at the Cumming Nursing Center (2775 Castleberry Road) for her rehab.

Update on Barbara

We understand Barbara suffered a pretty severe break in her arm. Her shoulder is also out of joint. At this point, they're going to keep her in the hospital for a couple of more days and then she'll be released to rehab. We don't know for how long she'll be in rehab.

Please remember Barbara in your prayers. We'll post updates when we can.

Message from Bill

When I left church this morning I had a text from my dad that my Uncle Horace, Mom’s brother, had died around 9:45 this morning. Though expected, it’s never easy. Horace was a visionary. He founded and ran Camp Chatahooche in Roswell for about 30 years. He also founded NOC (Natahala Outdoor Center), one of the largest river outfitters in the world. He was also a seminary graduate from Union Theolohical Seminary in Richmond, VA. These are a few of the things he did. He was a very gentle man with a great sense of humor. We’ll miss Uncle Horace.

REMINDER

Children, please remember to move your clocks forward tonight. If you don't you will miss all of the service and you'll have to sing by yourself and preach to yourself and call Ben when you're done so he can come and lock up. HAHA

Immediate Prayer Request

Sorry all. I'm having issues with the blog delivery and I sent this out several hours ago. I, personally, have not received the post so I'm sending it out again. If you get it twice, just pray twice. Thanks - Jan

We've just heard from Gayle and Damian has been admitted to the hospital for double pneumonia. He's here at Northside Forsyth, but we don't have a room number yet. He's on antibiotics and oxygen.

Gayle sounds pretty congested herself so a prayer or two for her is also in order. She's been at the hospital all day and is exhausted.

We will share more information as it becomes available. Please pray for our brother and sister in Christ. They are a lovely couple and a big part of Castle.

Thanks all.

Test

If this goes out, please ignore it. I'm trying to figure out how I can get blogs out faster. Thanks, folks. - Jan

From Bill and Marcie

Castle Family,

Yesterday was a banner day for me; one of the more significant days in my life. Words are inadequate to express how much I appreciate and love you all for a wonderful ordination service. You have been a source of healing and restoration for me for the past several years and yesterday was a huge milestone. I am truly honored to be your pastor.

Marcie and I, also, want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your warm and generous welcome to Jack and Marsha. They were blown away by the love you expressed to them the past two weeks. Thank you for your appreciation for the music they played yesterday. It meant so much to them to play. It was extremely meaningful to Marcie, her mother, and, me, as well.

With Much Love,

Bill & Marcie

Important Announcement

Every time we come together as a church to worship and praise our Lord and Savior, it is a special time. We must celebrate and recognize how fortunate we are to live in a place where we are able to honor our God freely. This approaching Sunday, however, should prove to be an event in our church unique to our normal time together.

Bill has gone through the steps to become ordained into the ministry of the Christian Church. Even though the Christian Church was created not to carry the tag of a denomination, over the decades of its existence, it has evolved into one. It is a wonderful commitment for Bill to ask for this ordination and through the leadership of our church as witnessed by the congregation, Bill's desire will come to fruition this Sunday during our normal worship time.

To further set aside this Sunday from our normal time together, Marcie's brother, Jack and his companion, Marsha have agreed to play the music that day. With both being music teachers it should be inspiring and moving as their music compliments our service this Sunday.

We hope you will plan on attending this exceptional day of praise and worship.
