Important information for the week

  • Don't forget that we will be packing and delivering our Christmas cookies this Saturday. Bring 2 dozen cookies, brownies, home made candy....whatever....to Judy Ware's office this Saturday morning @ 10 am. Her office is located in the house behind WWEV radio station on Sawnee Drive just past 1st Baptist Church. We'll need packers and drivers to deliver the cookie trays. If you're unable to join us on Saturday, please make arrangements with one of the leadership people to get your cookies (or whatever) included.

  • A few Christmases ago Ben and I were eating at Golden Corral on Christmas Day. For some reason I was unable to cook that year, Becca and the kids were in Michigan so we opted to eat there. When tipping the waitress that day, Ben inadvertently gave her the wrong packet of folded cash and we ended up tipping her $70.00. She began to cry and this idea was born. Since that year, we've always tried to leave a big tip for someone having to work on Christmas Day. As a church we are offering you the opportunity to make someone stuck at work on Christmas Day a gift of love. It could be someone at a convenience store, a hospital worker, a restaurant employee....anyone. If you want to participate, please sign up this Sunday or let one of the leadership folks know that you want in. That way we'll know how many gift cards to purchase. You're asked to go out at sometime on Christmas Day, find someone who is working and give them a Christmas Blessing. You can simply tell them, "God bless you" or whatever you are led to say. It may be nothing at all, just a smile.
