If you missed the excitement
from the last 24 hours or so, our website was compromised or hacked or
hijacked or all of the above. Several of the people on this email were
working diligently yesterday and into last night trying to resolve
the situation. Fortunately, we (not me) were able to make the
site inaccessible and that is a very good thing considering where
people were able navigate through our site due to the
compromise.
Bradley White, the son of Linda from
church, graciously offered to help us get a brand new site up and running
in fairly quick order. He was a tremendous help last night in trying to
shut down our current site. He has quite a bit of experience in this area. We
do need one person who would be willing to maintain the site and keep it current.
If anyone is willing to serve in that role, please let me know asap. It
would be great to get the three of us (Bradley, me, person to maintain site)
together so that we can get a good start right out of the gate with a new site.
This could turn out to be a good turning point for us in that we can get
excited about a refresh and help promote our new site. We all know that the
website is the new front door of the church and where people go first
to “kick the tires”. Now that this situation is under control that
caused us angst yesterday, I’m actually excited about where this
could wind up.
Thanks again to all who pitched in
to help get this resolved.
Blessings,
Bill
