Hey everyone,
Got a call from the Amos's that Beth Ann, Mike and Diane's daughter, broke her leg today. It was apparently a very serious and painful break because she was going in to surgery to have it fixed.
Let's pray that everything goes well and that she mends quickly.
Also, the next email post you may forward to friends and family who you'd like to sponsor you in the Cross Walk!

Cross Event
Hello again everyone,
I want to add a few thoughts about the Cross event on Good Friday.
First, a few people mentioned that the cross might be too big for them to carry. We recognized that not everyone will be physically able to carry the cross as a "Simon,"so there are several ways for you to be involved as a "John" or "Mary" (cross-witnesses). The sheet we handed out this Sunday outlined some of those concepts, but a few are these:
We will need help at certain stations of the cross walk. We'll need to have water bottles ready for people who are walking, etc. Some people will just walk along with the cross, rather than carry it. Others may want to help at our main station where we'll be having our worship service. It MAY be that you cannot physically carry the cross, but still want to share the burden for the community. If this is the case, if you will raise $50 by finding sponsors, someone will carry the cross in your name!
Second, besides just getting folks to sponsor you on the sheet and collecting that, I'm going to be creating a blog post that will email to everyone. This post will include a link to a site where people can sponsor you with their Visa cards directly to Home Aid. When a post that begins with "Hello Friend" comes to your email in-box, you'll be able to forward it directly to your friends and family and contacts. That should be coming out tomorrow!
Thanks everyone for a great Sunday again. BTW, our softball team is looking pretty good! I won't know what to use for sermon illustrations if we start winning!

Softball Practice
Calling all softballers,
Just got a message from Trish that we are planning practice every Sunday at 3:00.
HOWEVER...She has also told me this:
"The field can not be reserved so whoever gets there first picks a field and reserves it for the rest of us."
So, we'll have to try to reserve fields as we go for practice.
Later!

Prayer Request for Eileen Pope's Family
Hey everyone,
Eileen Pope has been part of the family for a few weeks now and she has asked for some prayers.
"Can you please add my mom, Mary Grace, and my grandson, Seth Burt, to your prayer list? They are both scheduled for surgery next Monday, 2/23. Neither surgery is dire--my mom is having extensive oral surgery--she is 82 and very frail--so it is chancy--she doesn't react to anesthetic very well--it sends her into Lalaland b/c she has dementia. As for my grandson, he is 2 and quirky as only a 2 year old can be--he has some kind of a hernia and growth in his groin--a quick procedure, but my daughter and son-in-law are worried as you would expect them to be. Me too. So please pray for them and that God guides the surgeons. My mom has two additional procedures scheduled for March and April unrelated to this current surgery."
Let's be praying for Eileen AND her family during this time!

Reminders
Hey everyone,
Just a reminder that tomorrow is Q & A Sunday, so come expecting something a bit different tomorrow. Of course, we're ok with different!
Also, this week, we'll be moving back to WEDNESDAYS for Bible study. That's WEDNESDAY at 7:00! There are two upcoming Wednesdays that the youth group will be using the building, so we will either not have Bible study on those weeks or just meet in the back room. Those Wednesdays are the 25th of February and March 4.
Thanks!

Softball
Greetings!
We're gearing up for another successful softball season. However, the first step (as with all things) requires $MONEY$. If you signed up to play softball, we're going to need a $25 check from you THIS SUNDAY, Feb 8. Just make the check payable to Castle Christian Church.
Thanks!
