Coming Up This Sunday on OT SURVEY! (8/24/14)

Last week we had a great time talking about Israel's Exodus from Egypt.

This Sunday we're pressing on to talk about Israel's journey to Sinai and what they received there.  Very important material!

If you're reading along in your Bible and textbook, you should have read through Exodus 20!

See you this Sunday!

Coming Up THIS SUNDAY on OT Survey! (8/17/14)

Last Sunday we had a great time observing the elements of a seder meal and talking about the first Passover celebration.  A good time was had by all!

This Sunday, we'll be moving forward and talking about the Exodus from Egypt--what happened and what important lesson there is for us as Christians.  The text we'll be covering is chapters 12-15.  So, if you're reading along, be sure to have up to chapter 15 read in your Bible and your textbook!

After that we'll be moving forward a little more quickly, discussing the giving of the law at Sinai, and the means by which God cared for his people as they traveled.

This is an important time in Israel's history, so you don't want to miss it!

Don't Forget About Our Special Passover Celebration This Sunday (8/10/14)

Hey everyone,

Obviously, this isn't Passover season, but that's ok.  We're studying the Passover in Exodus this Sunday and decided to celebrate by observing some of the traditions on Passover.  It should be enlightening and fun!

If you signed up to bring something, don't forget!

I have:
  1. Chris Graves bringing lettuce leaves
  2. Judy Ware bringing hard boiled eggs
  3. Alan and Debbie Whigham bringing flat leave parsley (1 bunch)
  4. Roger and Sherry and Trish Earhart bringing the charoset (Vangie has sent you the recipe)
  5. Sharon Freeman and Lee Lamb bringing the maror (Vangie has also sent you that recipe)
    1. KEEP IN MIND THAT THE CHAROSET AND MAROR ARE IMPORTANT!
  6. Jason Rodenbeck bringing matzah
  7. Cathy Schmiddle, Ben and Jan, and Gayle bringing grape juice
Part of the celebration will be having regular food, as well (part of the feast).  So, please, if you're not bringing one of these items, feel free to bring something else!

I'm really looking forward to this Sunday.  I can't wait!  See you then!
