James Challenge and This Sunday's Text and Questions

Hello everyone!

Just a few thoughts about our James introduction.

We had a great turnout for our first Sunday.  It was great to see some faces we haven't seen for a while (though we missed some that we normally get to see who were traveling, etc.).

If you missed this Sunday, there are a few things I'd like to share with you.

First, the video that we watched on Sunday is available to view here: James Ossuary Video.

It's slightly different in that it has a different narrator, but it is the same content.

We also filled out a Viewing Guide which is available here: James Video Viewing Guide.

The CHALLENGE: On Sunday, I challenged all of us to read the book of James once a week every week for the duration of our study of James.  It sounds like a lot, but the truth is, James is a short book and you can read it in about 20 minutes to an hour!

Here is a link to reading James in the NIV translation so you can get started: James (NIV).

THIS SUNDAY we'll be covering James 1:1-8.  We're calling the message "The Benefits of Troubles."  Here are some questions James is answering:

Should Christians expect difficult times?
How should Christians respond to difficult times?
What is the point in being faithful when times are tough?
Where does wisdom come from?

And we'll see one of James' major themes emerge: the double-minded Christian!

You don't want to miss it!  See you this Sunday!
